Core Stability Breathing

by | May 10, 2015 | No Comments

Happy Florence Nightingale’s Birthday and Happy Nurses’ Week!

I love being a nurse. But another passion I have is teaching Pilates. As a Pilates Instructor I bring the Pilates’ Method of Core Stability Breathing to work with me every day. And when I’ve taught it to nurses and patients, we delegate the heavy lifting to our abdominal muscles instead of our spine.

With the recent National Public Radio news stories on injuries sustained by nurses and nursing assistants, this quick and valuable technique will soon become a practice you can incorporate daily in the care of the people you work with.

Stay safe with all that you already know to do and add this bit on Core Stability Breathing.

Click the video below – in under 5 minutes you see how it works.

Invite your friends and colleagues to watch and practice together. And please, let me know what you think and if you have questions. Post them below!

Until next time!

Jackie
